FROM PRO BOXER to PRO PAINTER

IT ALL STARTED in November 1996 when armando made his boxing debut after training for only one month.

Armando was 17 years old when he moved to Austin and was introduced to Richard Lord’s Boxing Gym on North Lamar. Some boxers may say they feel like the gym is their second home. For Armando it was his first. For two years he lived in a room that Lord built for him inside the gym. Armando’s motivation, discipline and want of a challenge was palpable. He went on to become an internationally ranked super bantam weight champion. In every championship, in the U.S. and abroad, Armando represented Austin with pride and ambition.

When Armando wasn’t training or competing, he was painting. In 1996, his first residential job was for a house on Enfield road and he approached the job the same way he did his boxing career: always do the job right. Armando highly valued professionalism, superior service, and high-end painting craftsmanship. These founding principles guide the company even now.

Armando’s gifts as a local craftsman and business owner allowed him to soon expand into a full-service Austin painting contractor. Now, in its third decade, AMG Painting has grown into one of Austin’s premiere painting contractors, all while staying committed to its founding core principles. In that time, Armando has added new values: clear communication, awareness of cutting edge paint technologies and products, and a strong commitment to cleanliness, both for your projects and the environment.

Armando is proud of AMG Painting’s long history of service in the Austin Area.
